Dr. T. Pegelow Kaplan on the Debates over Gender Difference in Holocaust Studies and Testimonies (Center-Co-organized Conference in Akko, Israel, March 2019)

Center director Dr. T. Pegelow Kaplan speaks on the topic of "What Difference Does Gender Make? Reassessing the Analysis and Debates over Gender Difference in Holocaust Studies and Testimonies" at the Center's first off-campus academic conference in Akko, Israel, in March 2019. Organized in partnership with the Holocaust Studies Program at Western Galilee College and the USC Shoah Foundation Center for Advanced Genocide Research in Los Angeles, the "Future of Holocaust Testimonies" Conference brought together dozens of scholars from around the world for three days of discussions and lectures.

Dr. Thomas Pegelow Kaplan on Transnational Jewish Petitioning Practices During the Shoah (Annual John Najmann Lecture at Yad Vashem)

Center director Dr. Thomas Pegelow Kaplan was invited to deliver the 2017/5778 annual John Najmann lecture at Yad Vashem, the World Holocaust Remembrance Center in Jerusalem. His lecture was entitled "Asserting Agency, Struggling for Survival: Trans-European and Global Jewish Petitioning During the Shoah" and incorporated research from his archival work in Israel as a fellow of the International Institute for Holocaust Research.

Dr. R. Horowitz on Holocaust Testimony in Yizkor Books

Dr. R. Horowitz presented her research at the recent Future of Holocaust Testimony IV conference in Akko, Israel. The Center will be a co-organizer of the Future of Holocaust Testimony V conference in Israel.
