The workshop will be held at Belk Library and Information Commons, ASU's main library, that is located at the center of campus (218 College St.). The workshop panels will take place in Room 421 (4th floor). The keynote lecture on Lecture Hall Room 114 (1st floor).

2:00-4:00 pm:        Workshop Panel I: “New Approaches in German-Jewish Studies” (Chair: Thomas Pegelow Kaplan, Center for Judaic, Holocaust and Peace Studies, ASU; Comment: Andrea Sinn, Elon University)

4:00-5:00:        Coffee Break and Information Session on Grants and Fellowships to Study in Germany (co-hosted with American Friends of the Alexander von Humboldt-Foundation)

5:00-7:00 pm:        Public Keynote Address, Prof. Dr. Stefanie Schueler-Springorum, Zentrum fuer Antisemitismusforschung, TU Berlin, “Gender, Sex, and Violence: Race Defilement in Nazi Germany” Discussion to follow.

7:00-9:00 pm:        Reception and Keynote Dinner (co-hosted by German Embassy) with Prof. Dr. Stefanie Schueler-Springorum, Proper Restaurant, 142 Water St., Boone, NC (walking distance from Belk Library)

11:00 am -1:00 pm:      Workshop Panel III: “Public Representations of German and/or German-Jewish History and Culture,” Chair: Jeff Vahlbusch, German/Honors College, ASU; Comment: Beverly Moser, German Studies, ASU)

1:00-2:00 pm:        Strategy session for Southeast German Studies Consortium, to be held during lunch (provided).
