Center Launches New Senior Fellowship in Jewish, Israel, Hebrew or Holocaust Studies
The Center for Judaic, Holocaust, and Peace Studies just launched its new senior fellowship program. We welcome proposals from outstanding scholars based at an academic or research institution in North America or abroad, who work in the fields of Jewish, Hebrew, Israel or Holocaust Studies. The first senior fellow will spend the Fall 2020 semester in residence at the Center. S/he will work on a research project in one of these fields, participate in Center events such as research colloquia and public lectures and give two public talks. The option to teach one upper-level class in the recipient’s area of expertise will further strengthen the pursuit of Jewish, Hebrew, Israel or Holocaust Studies at Appalachian State and benefit the students in the JHP degree program and beyond. The Center plans to expand the program in the near future and also offer junior fellow positions to PhD students and recent PhD recipients.
