Modern Hebrew on Offer at ASU in Fall 2017!

In Fall 2017, ASU offers its first Modern Hebrew class for degree-seeking students. The class is situated in the Department of Languages, Literatures & Cultures and taught by Dr. Rachel Shinnar from ASU's Walker College of Business. Prof. Shinnar holds a PhD from the University of Nevada and a BA in literature from Tel Aviv University. She has many years of experience teaching modern Hebrew. The course will introduce participants to core vocabulary and grammar and focuse on oral and written communication. The class is taught on Mondays and Wednesdays from 2:00 until 3:15 pm. 

The course is part of the minor in Judaic, Holocaust and Peace (JHP) Studies and is supported by the Center for JHP Studies. The JHP affiliated faculty and minor coordinator Dr. Pegelow Kaplan are working with the College of Arts and Sciences on expanding the offerings in modern Hebrew in future terms.  For more information, please contact Dr. Pegelow Kaplan at thomaspegelowkaplan@appstate.edu or 828.262.6118.
