The Center joined Beate Klarsfeld, Leah Rosh, Professor Dr. Andreas Nachama, the former head of the Jewish Community in Berlin, and many German and international scholars in a call to continue the trial against Hubert Zafke, a former SS medic at the Auschwitz extermination camp, at a German court in Neubrandenburg. The trial against the 95-year old former SS man is stalled as the defendant is claiming to suffer from stress and suicidal thoughts. The presiding judge also has so far not allowed Auschwitz survivors as witnesses or relatives of those murdered at the extermination camp as co-plaintiffs. It is likely one of the final Auschwitz trials (read the English-language petition here).
