This video is a recorded testimony by child survivor Dr. Miriam Klein Kassenoff (Florida) who escaped with her parents and baby brother on an eight-month train journey from Hungary to Lisbon, Portugal, where they managed to get on one of the last ships leaving for the U.S. in late spring 1941. Born in Košice, present-day Slovakia, Dr. Miriam Klein Kassenoff was four (or five) years old at the time of the family's escape. Today, she is an accomplished Holocaust educator who runs a successful teacher institute in Florida. She also helped to build the Center at ASU. In conversation with Center Director T. Pegelow Kaplan
