Southeast German Studies Consortium Workshop '22


In cooperation with the Southeast German Studies Consortium, the Center for Judaic, Holocaust, and Peace Studies will host the Fourteenth Southeast German Studies Consortium (SEGSC) workshop on March 24 and 25, 2022. First convened in 2008, the annual SEGSC workshops bring together thirty to fifty graduate students and faculty with strong interests in German Studies who are based in the southeastern United States have been taking place at various universities and colleges in the region. Participants have come from a broad array of fields (including but not limited to literature and language, history, cultural and film studies, musicology, and political science). Following the format of previous workshops, the Fourteenth SEGS Workshop at ASU will revolve around invigorating and collegial discussions of the participants’ short, pre-circulated position papers. The meeting eschews formal panel presentations in favor of more democratic group discussions of these papers. This year's position papers will address the workshop’s central themes in German and German-Jewish History and Studies.
